Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with clients through some of the most personal chapters of their lives; from fine, fragile and thinning hair to hair loss associated with cancer treatment, Trichotillomania, GLP-1 hair loss, autoimmune conditions,  and other life changes. I’ve also worked with transgender clients throughout their individual hair journeys, where hair can play an incredibly meaningful role in confidence and self-expression.

Those experiences challenged my creativity in ways I never thought existed. 

To me, extensions have never been simply about adding length or volume. They’re about understanding the person sitting in my chair; their natural hair, lifestyle, concerns and goals—and finding the right solution for them.

After nearly three decades of working with extensions, one thing has become very clear:

There is no “one size fits all” hair extensions method. 

I created Sarah Dam Hair from the perspective of a highly experienced, hair extension specialist. 

Over the years, I’ve worked with countless extension installations/methods, hair types and client needs. I wanted to create a professional collection that reflected everything those years behind the chair had taught me—thoughtful methods and options that allow stylists to choose what’s best for the individual client.  

Today, the Sarah Dam Hair collection includes Aire Wefts™️, Micro-Genius Wefts, Butterfly Wefts, Invisible Tape-Ins, Nano K-Tips, customized toppers and many specialized extension solutions. 

But there was one client in particular I felt the industry could serve better.

Fine, fragile hair has always required a different approach.

I wanted an extension option that felt lighter, more discreet and more intentional for clients whose natural hair simply couldn’t tolerate unnecessary weight and bulk.

That desire led me to create Sarah Dam Aire Wefts™—my signature extension innovation created specifically with fine, fragile hair in mind.

 Aire Wefts™ represents something much bigger than one product. It represents the philosophy behind Sarah Dam Hair:

The extension should adapt to the client—not the client to the extension.

When I decided to put my name on a professional hair collection, choosing hair from a catalog wasn’t enough for me. 

I wanted to know the artisans behind the product. So I traveled personally overseas to meet my manufacturing partners, experience the production process firsthand, touch and evaluate the hair myself, and communicate directly about the craftsmanship and quality standards I expect from anything carrying the Sarah Dam name.

As a stylist, I understand that when you choose a hair supplier, you’re trusting that supplier with something incredibly valuable:

Your reputation.

I’ve spent nearly 30 years building mine, worked with the same manufacturers in Qingdao, China for 25 years. Therefore, I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
